Indigenous & Community Partnerships
Midwest Pipelines Inc. recognizes that meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities are fundamental to responsible project development and long-term industry sustainability. We are committed to building respectful, transparent, and mutually beneficial partnerships grounded in trust, collaboration, and shared success.

Midwest has a longstanding history of working alongside Indigenous communities across Western Canada. We actively engage communities early in the project lifecycle to understand priorities, identify opportunities, and ensure alignment with community values and expectations.

Our approach focuses on creating sustainable economic participation and long-term capacity development through:
-
Direct employment opportunities for individuals from Indigenous communities
-
Engagement of Indigenous-owned subcontractors and suppliers whenever available
-
Support for local business development and workforce training initiatives
-
Open communication and proactive stakeholder engagement throughout project execution
Midwest is currently engaged with 49 Indigenous communities across our active projects. These relationships reflect our commitment to inclusion, economic partnership, and shared prosperity.

We believe that successful infrastructure development depends on strong, respectful partnerships. By working collaboratively with Indigenous communities, we aim to deliver projects that generate lasting economic benefits while honoring cultural values, land stewardship, and community priorities.
Community Involvement & Social Responsibility
Midwest Pipelines Inc. takes great pride in actively contributing to the communities in which we live and work. We recognize that responsible infrastructure development extends beyond project completion — it includes leaving a positive and lasting impact on the regions and people affected by our presence.

Throughout our operations, Midwest supports community programs, charitable initiatives, and local partnerships that strengthen social and economic well-being. Our commitment to community involvement is both corporate and personal, with leadership and employees actively engaged in supporting local causes.

As part of our construction activities, we also undertake voluntary land improvement initiatives designed to enhance community infrastructure and mitigate project impacts. These efforts may include:
-
Improvements to community facilities such as RV parks
-
Fencing and property enhancements
-
Road remediation and access upgrades
-
Additional site-specific improvements requested by stakeholders
Midwest management takes particular pride in supporting local charities, youth initiatives, and community organizations within the areas where we operate. We believe strong communities are foundational to a sustainable energy sector, and we are committed to contributing meaningfully wherever our projects take us.
Our goal is to ensure that our presence results in long-term value — not only through economic opportunity, but through tangible community improvement and responsible engagement.
